Political tests: frequently asked questions

Which political test is the most accurate?

No online political test is a validated measurement. Longer tests with more axes, like the 288-statement version of 12 Axes, describe your views in more detail, and taking two or three different political tests and comparing the results is more reliable than trusting one.

Are these political tests free?

Yes. Every political test on this site is free, needs no account and runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent to a server or stored in a database.

Are these the official versions of 8values, 9Axes and the others?

No. They are independent versions built on each project's open-source code and questions under the MIT licence, translated into Portuguese and Spanish. This site is not affiliated with the original authors.

Why do different political tests give me different results?

Each political test uses its own axes, statements and list of ideologies. 8values measures four axes, 9Axes nine and 12 Axes twelve, so the same views can land on different labels. The overall direction is usually consistent.

Which political test should I take first?

Start with 12 Axes if you want the fullest picture, or 8values if you want the test most people share results from. Then try PolitiScales or LeftValues and RightValues to explore the details.

Can I take the political tests in Portuguese or Spanish?

Yes. Every political test on this site is available in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. Use the language switcher at the top of the page.
